What’s Inside Your Portal

Learn what the portal dashboard, widgets, Tasks, Files, Service Showcase, Live Chat, and Requests can do.

Your client portal is made up of several core modules.

These are the building blocks that let you manage work, share files, and keep communication organized - all inside one place.

Here’s a breakdown of core modules and features in Sydnee:

Portal Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first thing your clients see when they log in. It's made up of two columns.

The left hand column is full of customizable widgets, while the right hand column is information based.

Tasks

The Tasks module is a lightweight project manager built into the portal. You and your clients can:

  • Create sections that show up as progress bars on the dashboard.
  • Add reminders, due dates, comments, and attachments.
  • Drag and drop tasks for easy reordering.
  • Sort by due date, priority, or status.
  • Use recurring tasks to stay on top of regular check-ins or reviews.
  • Choose whether tasks are private (team only) or collaborative (shared with clients).

Files

The Files module keeps everything organized and secure. You can:

  • Create folders to organize documents, images, and other files.
  • Set folder permissions so only specific people have access to folders and files
  • Star important files or images so they appear on the dashboard.
  • Share files with branded links that use your own domain, logo, and colors.

Service Showcase

The Service Showcase highlights what you offer directly inside the client portal:

  • Add your services and service details once, then assign them to accounts.
  • Active services appear on the dashboard for clients to see. They can show Submit Ticket when active-service tickets are enabled.
  • Inactive services can show Request Service. Both actions create a task on the account's configured service-request board and follow its service and assignee settings. Review how Submit Ticket and Request Service work.
  • Add clickable links (e.g., reporting dashboards, campaign trackers) so clients can jump straight into their resources.

This is a subtle but powerful way to remind clients of your value - and encourage upsells automatically.

Live Chat

Sydnee includes built-in live chat so you can communicate with clients in real time:

  • For clients, chat shows up as a floating bubble inside their portal.
  • On your side, chats are accessed in the backend with a Slack-like interface.
  • Messages are organized by client account, making it easy to keep conversations in context.
  • Notifications and pinned chats help you stay on top of important threads.
  • Create custom channels that you can keep team only, or add your clients to.
  • Send direct messages to anyone in your team or your clients
  • and more!

Requests

The Requests module makes it easy to collect files and information from clients:

  • Send a request form asking for specific details or documents.
  • Clients upload responses directly into the portal.
  • Files obtained through a request are automatically stored in the Files module for safekeeping.
  • Requests can be marked private, so only you and the client you sent it to can see them.
  • If you are on the growth plan or higher, then you can use sensitive answers and conditional flows.

This keeps information gathering simple, trackable, and all in one place.
