Set up and use Memo Pad
Add account notes, links, and supported media, then choose whether clients can see them.
Memo Pad is a rich-text card on one client account's dashboard. Use it for welcome notes, key links, instructions, or media that the client may need often.
Before you start
- You need team access to the client account to edit its Memo Pad.
- A portal user can read Memo Pad but cannot edit it.
- Memo Pad must be included in the dashboard widget settings for the client to see it.
Edit one account's Memo Pad
- Open the client account dashboard.
- Select the Memo Pad title if you want to rename it. Press Enter or click away to save the title.
- Select the Memo Pad content to start editing.
- Add and format the content.
- Choose whether Visible to clients is on.
- Select Save changes.
When Visible to clients is off, the Memo Pad stays team-only. Turning it on does not save by itself. Select Save changes to publish the content and visibility together.
Add a link or supported media
You can paste a normal link into the rich-text editor. Some published links can turn into media cards.
Current Memo Pad media handling includes:
- YouTube videos;
- Loom videos;
- Figma files or prototypes;
- public Monday boards;
- Canva designs; and
- posts from X or Twitter.
For a Loom video, paste a Loom share URL such as https://www.loom.com/share/... into the editor. Then save the Memo Pad.
The source tool's sharing settings still apply in Memo Pad. Test the saved content as a client. Private, removed, or blocked items stay unavailable.
Memo Pad media is different from a custom portal page. Use a custom page when you need a full embedded form, report, dashboard, or other tool.
What your client sees
The client sees the saved Memo Pad title and content on the account dashboard when:
- Visible to clients is on;
- the Memo Pad widget is enabled; and
- the client can open the account.
The client cannot edit the title, content, or visibility.
Fix a common problem
The client cannot see Memo Pad: turn on Visible to clients, select Save changes, and check the workspace's dashboard widget settings.
The latest text did not save: open Memo Pad again, make the change, and select Save changes before clicking outside the card.
A media card will not load: use the provider's public share URL, check its sharing settings, and test in the client portal. Provider login, cookie, plan, or embed rules may block it.
The title changed but the content did not: the title saves when you leave its field. Content and client visibility use the separate Save changes button.
