Onboard Your First Client

Add an account, configure the portal, and invite your first client.

With your portal branding set up, create an account, add the first useful content, and invite your client.

1. Add an Account

From your account list, select + New Account. Enter the business name, then create the account.

  • Single Account: Create one account from the client's business name.
  • Bulk Add: Need to onboard multiple clients? You can add up to 20 accounts at once directly in the app. For larger imports, Sydnee also provides API access.

2. Configure the Account

Once the account is created, you can customize it so the client’s portal feels ready for them:

  • Memo Pad: Add notes, updates, or key information. Turn on Visible to clients, then select Save changes before clients can see it.
  • Tasks: Create initial tasks or use a task template to get them started.
  • Files: Upload the files the client needs.
  • Custom Pages & Links: Add new pages to embed tools (like Google Sheets, Calendly, or Figma) or create navigation links that point clients to resources outside of Sydnee.
  • Services: Turn on the services that apply to this client.

This setup makes the portal feel personalized the first time your client logs in.

Check the account from the branded portal before inviting the client. Learn how account and portal access work.

3. Invite Your Clients

With the account configured, it’s time to give your client access:

  1. In the client account, open Portal access.

  2. Select Add to portal, then Invite a client.

  3. Enter the client’s Name and Email address.

  4. Leave Notify them by email on to send the invitation now. Add a Personal note if it helps.

  5. Select Send Invite.

Your client receives a link to your branded portal. They sign in with the invited email and a five-digit email code. Review the full client invitation and access steps when you need to add more people or change access later.

You can also use a custom domain for the branded portal. Set it up only when you are ready to change DNS records.

Once invited, your client is ready to log in and start using their portal.
