Share and deliver files

Organize client files, review changes, and present final work with Deliverables.

Files gives your team and client one place to work on uploads. A Deliverable turns a finished folder into a clear page for the client.

This guide shows the full path. Use the linked Reference pages when you need an exact setting or limit.

Choose the right place for the work

Use Files while work is moving. You can sort uploads into folders, control client access, discuss an image, and keep versions together.

Use a Deliverable when a folder is ready to share as final work. It is not a new copy. It is a simple view of the live folder and its files.

If you need the client to send information or upload source material, start with a Request. Then organize the finished work in Files.

Set up the working folder

Open the client account's Files area. Create a folder with a name the client will understand, such as Brand photos or June reports. Add smaller folders only when they make the work easier to scan.

Upload the files, then rename or move them as needed. The Files browser accepts up to 100 files in one upload and up to 2.1 GB per file. A file may still need to be downloaded if its type cannot be previewed.

Decide what the client can do

Set the folder's client access before you share it:

  • Full Access lets allowed clients upload, rename, move, and delete files.
  • View Only lets them open and download files.
  • Hidden keeps the folder out of the client portal.
  • Custom Access lets you choose specific teammates and client contacts. Selected teammates can use the folder. Each selected client contact gets Full Access or View Only. Everyone else is hidden from the folder.

A parent folder can make every folder inside it more strict. The same access rules apply when someone opens a copied client link.

Review the work together

Open a file to preview it. Your team and client can leave comments when comments are enabled. Type @ and choose a person when you need their attention.

On an image, place a pin on the exact spot that needs feedback. Pins are available for images only. A pin stays with the image version where it was added.

Upload a new version when the same file changes. You can add a change note, compare older versions, and choose which version is current.

Publish the finished folder

When the folder is ready, open it. Choose Turn into a Deliverable. Add the title. Check the access change. Then choose Create Deliverable.

Publishing makes the folder and all folders inside it View Only for clients. The Deliverable appears in the client's Files area right away. Creating a Deliverable does not send an email.

Use the share action when you want to send an email. Pick the client contacts. Check the subject, message, and button text. Then send it.

Share one file outside the portal

Use a public download link when one person needs one file without signing in. Choose an expiry from 1 day to 30 days. The link does not share the folder or give portal access.

What your client sees

Each client sees only the work allowed for that person. Opening a Deliverable marks it as seen for that person. The mark means the page was opened. It does not mean the person read or approved the work.
