Domain & DNS Coordination Request
About this template
This request template helps web professionals coordinate domain and DNS work safely. It covers domains, registrars, DNS management, email-related records, delegated access, backups, maintenance windows, and non-sensitive supporting records without collecting passwords or transfer codes.
Who it’s for
- Website setup projects that require domain or DNS configuration
- Website migrations where DNS changes must be coordinated carefully
- DNS troubleshooting involving existing records, hosting, or email services
- Domain transfers or delegated registrar and DNS access requests
When to use it
- Before requesting access to a domain registrar or DNS provider
- Before changing DNS records for a new website or hosting environment
- When preserving email, SPF, MX, TXT, or custom subdomain records is important
- When a client prefers to make DNS changes themselves with instructions
- When domain changes require security checks, IT approval, or a maintenance window
Customization tips
- Add the user or email address clients should invite for delegated access.
- Adjust registrar, DNS provider, and email provider options to match the platforms you support.
- Explain the minimum permission level needed for the requested work.
- Remove domain-transfer questions when the project only involves DNS updates.
