Can clients join channels and send direct messages?

Yes. Clients can participate in account conversations, join shared channels when invited, and send DMs to your team members. Clients cannot DM other clients, and they only see conversations they are part of.

How do channel permissions work?

Channel Managers control channel visibility, participants, and settings. Channels can be open (joinable) or private (invite-only), and managers can add or remove participants, transfer ownership, and archive channels.
