Set up a custom email sender and review the email log
Verify a sender domain, understand fallback sending, and check recent email delivery records.
Owners and admins can set a sender on a company domain. Sydnee uses it for the email paths that support it. This tool depends on the workspace plan.
Set up the sender
- Open Company Settings → Email Configuration.
- Under White Label Email Configuration, enter the Email Address to Send From.
- Save the address.
- Open Domain Authentication and copy all three DNS records into your domain provider.
- Return to Sydnee and select Verify DNS Records.
Use the exact record names and values shown in your workspace. Do not copy values from another company or from an old help image.
After DNS is found, setup often takes about 15 more minutes. It can take longer. Until it is ready, supported email uses no-reply@portalcomms.com.
The saved company name is used as the sender name when that email supports it. This is not a mailbox. It is not a campaign or email design tool.
Update or remove the sender
Open Company Settings → Email Configuration and select Manage DNS to review the records. Use Remove to stop using the custom sender. Supported emails return to the fallback sender after removal.
Review recent email delivery
- Open Company Settings → Email Log. The page title is Email History.
- Filter by delivery status and email type.
- Select an email row to open its details.
- Review the recipient, subject, send result, and provider event history.
Email History keeps records for 21 days. Successful means Sydnee gave the email to its mail provider. It does not prove the email reached the inbox. Later events can say delivered, held, bounced, dropped, opened, or clicked. An open or click does not prove that a person read or acted on the email.
Some test and security email is not shown here.
Why is my sender not verified?
- Confirm that all three required DNS records are present.
- Check for an extra space, missing character, or a record added under the wrong host.
- Remove a conflicting record with the same name.
- Wait for your DNS provider to publish the change, then select Verify DNS Records again.
- If your provider adds the main domain automatically, do not add it twice.
Why did an email not arrive?
- Find the message in Company Settings → Email Log.
- Open it and read the latest provider event.
- Confirm the recipient address is correct and the user's email preference allows that message.
- Ask the recipient to check spam or company email filters.
- If the event shows a bounce, block, drop, or repeated error, contact support with the time, recipient, email type, and visible event. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes.
What your client sees
Clients may see the verified address and company name on supported portal email. Not every Sydnee email uses the same sender or design. Test the client flows that matter to your team.
