Manage your profile and notification preferences

Update your team profile and find the separate email and Live Chat notification controls.

Each team member has their own profile and alert choices. Your settings do not change anyone else's settings.

Change your profile

  1. Open Personal Settings → Your Profile.
  2. Change your display name, profile photo, or time zone.
  3. Select Save.

Your name and photo show in the team app. They can show on tasks, comments, and Live Chat. Your time zone sets your own times. It also sets the end of a Live Chat pause.

The profile page can also include personal view choices. These belong only to your login.

Find email notification settings

Open Personal Settings → Email Notifications.

This page has the main Sydnee email switch and supported Live Chat, task, and file choices. Some choices can be set by account. Turning off the main email setting can stop supported email even when a smaller choice is on.

Not every email uses the same rules. Team invites and sign-in email have their own rules. So do tasks, files, requests, and Live Chat. Send times can differ.

Find Live Chat settings

Open Personal Settings → Live Chat Notifications.

From this page, a team member can:

  • Choose the starting alert rule for new account chats and channels.
  • Pause Live Chat alerts for a set time.
  • Set browser sound and browser notifications on this device.

Direct messages start with alerts on. A saved setting on one conversation can differ from the default for new conversations. Browser sound and browser permission are local to that browser.

The pause also stops supported Live Chat email while the pause is active. To turn unread Live Chat email on or off, use Personal Settings → Email Notifications.

Sydnee does not send set-time Live Chat recap or digest email now. It may still send one email when a chat first becomes unread. The mobile app may send a push alert. Your rules and device setup must allow it.

Why do different notifications have different controls?

Alerts come from many parts of Sydnee. Each part sets who is told, how they are told, and when it sends.

  • Task and File email choices live under Email Notifications.
  • Live Chat defaults, pause, sound, and browser alerts live under Live Chat Notifications.
  • The unread Live Chat email switch lives under Email Notifications.
  • One chat can have its own Live Chat setting.
  • A client has their own portal choices. Team settings do not change them.
  • An unread badge can stay on when sound or email is off.

There is no single control that promises to stop every security, access, or service message.

Fix a missing notification

  1. Confirm the work belongs to an account you can access.
  2. Check the setting for that product area.
  3. For Live Chat, check the conversation rule and any active pause.
  4. For browser alerts, check browser permission and device volume.
  5. For email, check the main email switch, the smaller product choice, spam, and company mail filters.

What clients see

Clients do not see a team member's Personal Settings. They manage supported choices inside their own portal login.
