Download, save, or delete task attachments

Select task attachments, download a ZIP, save copies to account Files, and remove files from a task.

Select several attachments on a task to download them together, save copies to account Files, or delete them from the task.

Before you start

  • You need access to the task and its attachments.
  • Clients can download attachments on work they can see. Deleting also needs an editable task and section.
  • Saving to account Files is available to team members on active account tasks.
  • Archived tasks and boards allow downloads where you still have read access. Save and delete actions are unavailable there.

Use the task details guide to add a new attachment.

Select attachments

  1. Open the task and its Files area.
  2. Use the selection checkbox on each attachment you want.
  3. Choose an action from the selection toolbar.

Select all attachments selects the list. When there are more than 100, Select first 100 selects that first group. You can work with up to 100 attachments at once. Use Clear selection to leave the files unchanged.

Download a ZIP

Choose Download selected attachments. Sydnee prepares a ZIP and shows its progress. When it is ready, choose Download ZIP.

The combined files can be up to 10 GiB. Split a larger set into smaller downloads. Keep the page open until the download starts. The progress notice can remain while you close the task drawer.

If the ZIP fails or expires, select Prepare again. Sydnee retries a lost status connection. Select Close to hide the notice. The ZIP keeps preparing.

Save copies to account Files

Choose Save to Portal File Manager. Sydnee puts the copies in the account's Task Files folder, inside a folder named for the task. Open the account's Files area to find them.

Each saved file is a separate copy. Changes to an attachment and its Files copy do not stay in sync. A file already saved there is not copied again. The workspace's storage allowance and destination access still apply.

Clients do not have this save action. It is also unavailable for personal tasks without a client account.

Delete selected attachments

Choose Delete selected attachments, check the selected files, and confirm. A copy saved to account Files is separate from the task attachment.

What your client sees

Clients see only attachments on tasks they can access. They can download the selected files together. They can delete files on editable work. Read-only tasks keep the download action.

A saved copy appears in the client portal only when the client has access to its destination folder. Check folder access.

Fix a common problem

Some files changed and others failed: successful files leave the selection. Failed files stay selected so you can retry those files only.

Save or Delete is missing: check whether the task or board is archived. For a client, also check task and section read-only settings. Saving to Files is a team action on an account task.

The files saved but the list did not refresh: use the retry shown for loading. Check the destination before starting the save again.

The ZIP is too large: select fewer files and prepare a smaller ZIP.
