This week, anyone who can see a task board's Overview can join its status update conversations. We also added multiple reactions to file and task comments, bulk task attachment actions, and new webhook and Zapier events.
Comment on task board status updates
Open a current or past update in a task board's Overview to comment on progress or next steps. The conversation stays with that update.
Team members and clients can comment, mention people, and react. You can also edit or delete your own comments and mute ordinary comment alerts for one update. Check who can see Overview before sharing internal details.
Before you post, the comment editor shows how many people can receive an email.
Open an update from Overview, a dashboard progress card, or Task Center → Task Boards → Status Updates. The conversation opens without losing your place, and teammates with permission can edit or delete the update. Learn about status update conversations.
Multiple reactions for file and task comments
File and task comments now let you add several different emoji reactions. Choose a quick reaction or search the picker. Select one you added to remove it, and open its count to see who reacted.
Reactions also work on file comments pinned to images and PDFs. Reaction alerts stay in-app; they do not send email. See file comments and pins. See task comments.
Manage task attachments in bulk
Select task attachments to download them as one ZIP, save copies to account Files, or delete them from the task. You can work with up to 100 attachments at a time.
You can close the task drawer while a ZIP prepares, then download it from the progress notice when it is ready.
Saved copies go into Task Files, in a folder named for the task. They are separate from the task attachments. Saving is available to team members on active account tasks; clients with task access can download selected attachments.
Deleting removes an attachment from the task for everyone. Download any files you need before confirming. Manage task attachments.
New webhook events for comments and reactions
Webhooks have five new event types: one for comments on task board status updates, and four for reactions to status updates, status update comments, task comments, and file comments.
Reaction events include the emoji and the person who added it. To receive these events, select them for an endpoint in Company Settings → Webhooks. Existing endpoints keep their current event selections. See webhook events and payloads.
New triggers added to Zapier
The Sydnee app in Zapier has matching new triggers for status update comments and reactions. Start a Zap when someone comments on an update or reacts to a status update, status update comment, task comment, or file comment.
Reaction triggers include the emoji and the person who added it. Existing Zaps keep their selected triggers. See Sydnee's Zapier triggers and setup steps.
