Manage optional tracking with Data Controls
Choose which optional tracking to allow for your Sydnee account and browser, and fix a choice that could not be saved.
Use Data Controls to choose which optional tracking to allow for your own Sydnee login. You can change product and marketing analytics on their own. Each switch saves as you change it.
Before you start
Sign in to the team workspace with your own login. Owners, admins, and team members can manage their own choices under Personal Settings.
These choices apply to your account and this browser. They do not change a teammate's choices or your clients' choices.
Change optional tracking
- Open Personal Settings → Data Controls. You can also open Data Controls directly.
- Under Optional tracking, find the setting you want to change.
- Turn its switch on or off.
- Wait for the message that the setting was saved.
There is no separate Save button. Change the other switch if you want to update both choices.
Detailed product analytics
This helps Sydnee learn which features are useful and improve the service. Turn it off to stop the optional product analytics covered by this setting.
Marketing analytics
This helps Sydnee measure how well marketing campaigns work. Turn it off to stop the optional marketing analytics covered by this setting.
Optional tracking starts on where it is available and no saved opt-out or privacy rule keeps it off. You can change either switch at any time.
See which services Sydnee uses
Select View services we use below the switches. This opens the list:
- Analytics: Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Intercom. These help Sydnee learn how the app is used.
- Marketing analytics: Meta, Google Ads, and Rewardful. These help Sydnee measure its campaigns.
Some tools have more than one use. For example, a listed tool may still help with support when tracking is off.
What changes when tracking is off?
Turning a switch off stops that optional tracking in this browser right away. Sydnee also saves the choice to your account. Wait for the saved message to confirm the change reached both places.
Your saved account choices also apply when you sign in elsewhere. A browser's own saved opt-out can still keep tracking off there. Check Data Controls in the browser where you want to change it.
Sign-in, security, billing, service messages, and requested support remain available. Data Controls manages optional tracking. It does not delete your account, client work, or data already held by a service.
Email and Live Chat alerts have separate notification settings.
Why is a switch off or unavailable?
Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control, or GPC, is a privacy signal that some browsers send. When it applies, the switch stays off. It says Your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal keeps this off. The switch is locked while that signal applies.
A saved opt-out stays in place after the signal is removed. To turn tracking back on later, return to Data Controls and review the switch.
Workspace privacy settings
A switch may say Unavailable under this workspace’s privacy settings. If no choices are available, the page shows Optional tracking is off.
Sydnee for Healthcare shows All Optional Tracking Is Off instead of the switches. Optional tracking stays locked off in that workspace.
Fix a tracking choice that did not save
A choice could not be saved
Select Try Again beside the error. That tracking stays off in this browser while the change is unresolved. The change may not have reached your account or other browsers yet.
Privacy choices could not be loaded
Select Try Again. Optional tracking stays off here until Sydnee can check your saved choices.
Tracking is paused in this browser
Select Retry Browser Check. The switches may show your account choices while tracking stays off in this browser.
If Reconnect your browser preferences appears, review your account choices before selecting Restore Preferences. Restoring can resume tracking allowed by those choices. Turn off the switches first if you want that tracking to stay off.
If the error remains, open Help & Support. Share the message shown on the page.
What your clients see
Clients have their own choices in your branded portal. They do not see your Personal Settings. Your switches leave their choices as they are.
Where available, a client contact's profile shows Restrict all data analytics. This lets them turn off optional platform analytics. It also covers tracking tools your firm has set up.
To set up your firm's tools, use company portal tracking settings. Your own Data Controls choices are separate.
