Review activity and unread notices

Review Activity, use the task and file inboxes, and add Unread Activity to your team dashboard.

Use Activity to review notices for work you can access. Read and unread marks help you track what needs attention. They do not change the work or send a message to a client.

Before you start

  • Activity follows your account and item access.
  • Your alert settings decide which actions send you a notice.
  • Activity notices are separate from the change history inside a task or file.

Review Activity

  1. Open Activity from the workspace navigation.
  2. Choose Unread or All.
  3. Choose an account when you want to focus on one client.
  4. Open a notice to view its task, file, comment, or status update.

Opening the destination marks that notice as read. You can mark it unread again when you want to return to it. Use the refresh control to check for more activity.

The list keeps your place while you review it. A notice you open may stay in the unread list until the next refresh, even though it is now marked read.

Mark several notices read or unread

Use Select in the task or file inbox. Choose individual notices or all items already loaded. You can select up to 100 at once. Choose Mark as read or Mark as unread, then leave selection mode with Cancel.

Mark all as read applies to unread notices in that inbox and its current account filter. For example, using it in the Files inbox does not mark task notices read.

For a focused list, open Task Center → Inbox or Files → Inbox.

Add Unread Activity to your team dashboard

  1. Open your team home dashboard.
  2. Open Widgets at the top of the dashboard, or Customize from a widget's menu.
  3. Turn on Unread Activity.

Expand the widget to see unread notices. It shows up to 100 items. Open an item to view the work and mark that notice read. Use Refresh activity to check again, or View more in Activity to open the full list.

The widget may be off in an existing saved dashboard layout. Turning it on changes your team dashboard. It does not add a widget to the client dashboard.

What your client sees

Clients can review their own Activity in the branded portal. Their notices follow their own access and settings. They do not see the team dashboard or the team task and file inboxes.

Fix a common problem

A notice is missing: switch to All, clear the account filter, and refresh. Then check your notification preferences.

The source was deleted: notices for deleted or missing work are left out of the feed. Access and archive rules still apply to other work. A restored item may make its earlier activity available again after refresh.

The list has not changed: use the refresh control. Marking a notice read does not always remove its row at once.

Unread Activity is missing from the dashboard: open Widgets and check whether the widget is enabled.
