Help clients sign in through a browser

Show a client how to open your branded portal in a browser, use an email code, and switch accounts.

Clients use your branded portal in a web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. There is no separate portal app to download or install.

Send clients your company portal link. They should save or bookmark that link so they return to the right branded portal. They sign in with an email code, not a portal password, and they do not see Sydnee branding.

Open the portal in a browser

Tell the client to:

  1. Open your company portal link in their browser.
  2. Check that the page shows your company name and branding.
  3. Bookmark the page if they want a quick way to return later.

Have the client open the saved portal link in a browser. There is no separate portal app to download from an app store.

Sign in with an email code

Tell the client to:

  1. Open your company portal link in a browser.
  2. Enter the email address that has portal access.
  3. Select Next.
  4. Open the email with the five-digit code.
  5. Enter the code under Enter your 5 digit code.
  6. Select Login.

If the email belongs to one active account, the portal opens that account. If it belongs to more than one, the portal opens Choose an account.

For privacy, the first screen does not tell the client whether an email address has portal access.

Change the email before you finish

Ask the client to select Change Email on the code screen, enter the correct email, and request a new code.

Some portal messages may contain a direct access link. A valid link signs the client in and opens the account connected to that link.

If the link is invalid or the account is no longer active, ask the client to return to your portal login page and use an email code.

Choose an account after sign-in

On Choose an account, the client selects the account they want to open. The list is sorted by account name.

If no accounts appear, check whether the client's access was removed or each linked account is unavailable. Confirm the client under Portal access.

Switch accounts inside the portal

If the client can use more than one account, ask them to select the current account name in the portal header and choose another account from the list.

The portal tries to open the same area in the other account. That area may be missing if the other account does not use it.

Log out

Ask the client to open their profile picture and select Log out.

What the team should check

The team should confirm:

  • the client is listed under Clients in Portal access
  • the email spelling matches the address the client enters
  • the client account is active
  • the client is using your company's portal URL
